Windows Replacement Companies

Was doing research on companies and have only found one review on Yahoo's answer, that someone recommends. How do I know if the person who wrote the review actually works for the company. How do I know if he's a friend of the company? Sometimes you cannot go with one review so I did more researching and found nothing else but someone on google trying to find answers as well.

Customers need to write more reviews. I wrote a few because I like the businesses, so far, I'm been dealing with. It's good to get recommendations so you're less likely to fall into thinking you're getting a good deal costing you more money.

We have one recommendation from my husband's coworker. He mentions Window World. They called us to leave a broken message. They didn't try to call us again because they don't want our business. I'm not sure if calling them would mean we're desperate. Showing desparation is a sign that we are the weak one. Businesses usually take advantage of weak customers. Women for instance in a repair shop. Yeah been there done that. I could have been a millionaire if they didn't take advantage of me not knowing anything.

Rejections and Discriminations and Minorities

It’s sad in our situation. He’s tried getting into other companies outside of government but they all turned him down, mainly because he obviously looks disabled. I know it’s discrimination to not hire someone like that because they are what they are, but companies are not going to tell you why they don’t hire. It’s like the time when he tried to sign up for the military. He received all kinds of calls wanting his service, but after they met him, seeing his disability, he was turned down. That’s another side of the government. When he was a teen he played rough so allow him the opportunity to continue to play rough. He rode motorcycle in winter, rode horses on his dad’s farm, and did other daredevils things I don’t know about. I guess the government is afraid he’ll hurt himself. He’s pretty strong though even with his cerebral palsy and pretty smart in technical related things.

I have a lot of minorities in me. Not only am I short but I am also a parentless female who is of Asian descend. I don’t have the looks since my feet are big, and my boobs small, beside me having weight issue. I’ve changed my name to be more Americanized and to get more job interviews, which is all I’d get. They want to interview me because I have all these qualifications, but then they see me and like my husband_ rejected probably because of our physical appearance.

We were taught as kids not to compare ourselves to others and we don’t judge. Yeah right wait until you grow up. Then you know what I’m talking about.

Not Sure of Loan Modification

When we bought our house back in 2005 I had a good job. This year I’m at a different job working for less money and my hours are reduced.

I called my mortgage company and they are sending paper work or hardship form for us to fill out again. A few years back we almost had to fill them out twice due to job losses. We were afraid the loan modification would do more harm than good by offering us to pay twice the mortgage in less time or sell the house and foreclose, which was the reasons why we didn’t send in our paper work. It didn’t look like we’d be making less mortgage payment, so why would we need to go through the hassle and still lose our home?

We are pretty good at handling money. Both of us grew up with responsibilities and maintaining them. Our credit ratings are good and we maintain our bills and credit cards pretty well making sure there is no or few late payments. I had first time homebuyer’s seminar, which taught me nothing I already new. There was a lady there who told us of her story when she was in her early 20’s. She was the key speaker to helping homebuyers be more responsible. She was given half a million inheritance and wasted all of it on fun things. I was thinking wow I’m in my 20’s have two kids and an apartment I’m doing just fine with the little income I make. I mean we weren’t living the life of the rich and famous, but we pay our bills on time. I didn’t inherit anything. Both my parents have been dead a long time. Work hard and be responsible are keys to success, but sometimes when you have kids, they come first and you have to sacrifice even if it might cost you your job.

Though my husband has a good job it doesn’t mean it’s secure. He told me that if I lose my job, he’ll lose his too, and we don’t work for the same company. The government will escort him out the door no questions, no trials if we can’t pay our debt. How fair is that? Now I wish he didn’t work for the government at all.

Thinking about kids and future

Been thinking about my kids and how sad they are. Though in my 30's I and my sister have come along way raising ourselves and having homes in the US. But my kids are 8 and 10 growing up with divorced parents and having no grandparents to call their own. I wish I could do something more but with the little money we have all I can give them is time on the computer or a treat to eat. Then again my son who is the oldest always ask for a toy when we go shopping. But I know him better because he tends to play with things once and then forget about it. Lol, then he looks at me gloomy and everything. My daughter however is on the brighter side who enjoys school and listens better. However she gets pretty sensitive and throws a tantrum if something doesn't go her way. She's a smart cookie though and very sweet. She's having a tough time with her recurrent UTI and I'm doing the best I can to make her feel comfortable and seeing improvement this year. Thinking about the future and global warming and this economic mess in the US make things even worse. All you can do is push forward.

Another day in paradise

Got up as usual to go to work. Was a bit tired this morning. Perhaps I've gone to bed late. Part of getting older too I think.

There was hardly any work today, but we are to be on standby. I don't like to be at work when there's no work. Sometimes we're suppose to clean. I'm not a fan of cleaning especially when handling horrible looking thing, but I do my best anyway. Actually I was kept busy helping this guy out. He was going solo and he does well on his own. Anyway it's time to go grocery shopping.

Can I make money selling on eBay?

Yes I did it. My profit margin however might not be a lot but I made a few hundreds last year. If you're considering selling on eBay, I would suggest you know what your in cost is. Listing an item means fees. You have listing fee, final value fee when your item sells. If you're using paypal to process the sales transaction you're charged a fee if the buyer uses other payment method than the balance in your paypal account or direct fund from your bank. Shipping cost_ make sure your buyer pays you enough to cover the cost and perhaps it is probably a good idea that they assist with the other fees as well, so listing the item at a higher price may do. Ebay now warns you that your shipping cost is higher than normal so you'll have to play around using the shipping tool calculator so you may insert some needed information about the package. I have been selling mostly books online. Most of these books I received for free. To avoid paying a higher listing fee I listed them for under a dollar. The shipping cost ranges 4 to 5 dollars depending on the number of items and the weight. In the end I made a few cents for each sale, but eBay does not agree with that since they count the shipping as my profit too. This last year has been very costly since we've made too many car repairs and home maintenance, yes the hot water heater broke. Unless you've sold a million items, eBay is more like a hobby than a business if you're without capital.

Do I recommend Aspen Dental?

I was able to schedule my first appointment online as a new patient. Through my dental insurance is how I found Aspen. It's great that it's close to home and has Saturday hours without conflicting with my work schedule. Their office hours open to 7pm and there might be one near you. My first impression of Aspen is that they are a francise type dental store. It was quiet with plenty of parking and clean waiting area. Since this is a first visit they offer free consultation and free xray. In addition to the regular mouth xray there is a panoramic type that rotates around your head. This is a high tech office. The doc looked at the xray result with me, poke around brieftly closely inspect my teeth and came to a conclusion. I was surprised her findings was not the same as the other's dentists. They did not remind me that I could put my belongings here or there, which I do not like, so they're don't appear to me too attentive. The doc did greet and bid me well, but they did not end by asking if I have any questions. I sort of feel rushed. Don't ask don't tell policy? After the exam I was taken to the billing to discuss the financial portion. I had to ask for details. My overall impression between 1 and 5. 5 being the best. I'd give them a 2.5 for being somewhat secretive.
